Smithsonian Gamboa Tropical Laboratory
STRI - The Smithsonian Tropical Research Insitute - has several research stations throughout the isthmus of Panama. This Laboratory is the first major architectural intervention in Gamboa, neighboring the Canal and Sobernia National Park. It was designed to have a light touch on the landscape, and its wood lattice screen walls are inspired by regional architecture.
